The Challenges of Winter Running in Boston

Boston got its first snowfall last night.  Only 2 inches in JP, but enough to think about traction and what shoes you wear on your run.

A shout-out to Boston Parks Dept!  They are awesome at plowing the paved trails around Jamaica Pond.

Not far from the Pond is what sledding locals call the Sugar Bowl

Long Run 2

Gorgeous day for a (9 mile) run!  We are in Canton MA for the holidays, so I did my run around Ponkapoag Pond, a few miles from my wife's folks' house.

Merry Christmas Eve!!

Long Run 1

Back home from the first long run of Boston Marathon training! 39 degrees, raining, pitch black, but at least it was around serene Jamaica Pond.

To kick off my Boston Marathon fundraising efforts, my Mom & Dad donated $500!!  HUGE THANKS to them.  I hope this inspires others to do the same!
